Is fortunetelling related to your dreams? If so, how?

As C.G. Jung wrote and taught, our subconscious mind communicates with us via dreams and dreamlike images, including artistic expressions (such as drawing our own mandalas) and dreamlike images—even just with images and words that catch our eye during the day. Really good fortunetellers, like good Jungian psychotherapists, can pick up on those images in various ways.

Some would say that a good fortuneteller reads your aura (or reads your mind or subconscious mind) just as a good therapist listens not only to what you say but also to what is implied in what you say, and do not say, and how you express it.

Others would say that the very best fortunetellers get information for you from a higher metaphysical level, what C.G. Jung referred to as the transpersonal level. That is, they may get information from the dimension in which all human consciousness is said to be connected.

Many of us are not totally aware of all that we know. We have subconscious knowledge that—for whatever reason—we do not acknowledge consciously. A good fortuneteller can really help with that.

A really superb fortuneteller can often provide uncannily accurate information that we could not possibly have known ourselves, as subsequent events may prove to us.

One thing that I seldom hear people discuss about fortunetellers is that they also receive their information, the information that they give us, as dreamlike images. One of the things that makes a good fortuneteller or psychic is the ability to interpret those dreamlike images on our behalf.

Another valuable trait of a good fortuneteller is knowing when to share such images with us directly, allowing us to get in touch with such images ourselves, providing further insight that we can draw for ourselves. So often a good reading by a professional fortuneteller continues to provide insights as events and relationships develop, and we more and more understand the dreamlike images they provide for us.

In a way, a fortuneteller dreams on behalf of their client and then shares and interprets the dream images with the client. That makes it so interesting and valuable to chat live with a psychic.

Why not give it a try? Just be sure to write down all those predictions, especially the images (visual and words and phrases) in your dream journal, so you can continue to study them for additional insights.

And be sure to stop by and leave a comment to let us know how it turns out.

Dreams are messages from your subconscious, telling you what you deeply fear, need or wish for. Sometimes the way to make your good dreams come true is to take action to make them happen.

Some people sit around and hope and wish that good things will happen. Others research, plan, make a decision and take action to make their dreams come true. And so can you.

For example, if you dream of improving your home, a good contractor can make those dreams come true. If you live in or near Toronto, Canada, you may be in luck. For toronto bathroom renovations, toronto home additions, basement finishing, or kitchen renovations, you can call on expert toronto contractors.

Wherever you live, whatever your dreams, I hope you will find a way to take action on them, to make them happen for you. Start to day. Maybe at first you can only take baby steps toward your dream, researching on the Internet, for example. But keep on taking whatever steps you can, and never give up.

Whatever you wish for, whatever good things you dream of, may you find a way to make all your best dreams come true!

The interpretation of dreams by dream experts is probably as old as dreaming itself. We know that all humans, and many animals, dream every night, and humans have always been fascinated to learn what causes dreams and what they mean.

The interpretation of dreams dates back at least as far as 3000-4000 B.C. We know that because the interpretations of dreams were recorded in permanent form on clay tablets. It’s thought that many primitive peoples were unable to initially distinguish between the real world and the dream world. For more details visit to www.joint-venture-guide.com
In many cases, they looked upon the dream world as an extension of the physical world around them, and in many cases they saw the dream world as more powerful than the waking one.

Dream interpretation was such an important field to the ancient Greek and Roman world that dream interpreters often accompanied generals and other military leaders into battles. Dreams were taken extremely seriously, and the Greeks and Romans in particular often viewed dreams as messages sent by their gods.

Dreams also had a religious content in ancient Egypt, and priest their doubled as dream interpreters. Dreams were among the items recorded by the ancient Egyptians in the form of hieroglyphics. Those whose dreams were especially vivid or significant were thought to be blessed and were given special status in these ancient societies. Likewise, people who were able to interpret dreams were thought to receive these gifts directly from the gods, and they enjoyed a special status in society as well.
There are over 700 mentions of dreams in the bible, and people in biblical times saw dreams as very significant. Dreams and their interpretations are mentioned in many of the most significant books of the bible and other holy scriptures.

In many cases, dreams were often seen as a form of prophecy. People often interpreted their dreams as omens or warnings, and adjusted their activities accordingly. Dreams were often thought of as omens from deities, as messages from spirits, or as messages from departed souls. In some cases, dreams were even seen as the work of demons, meant to confuse and trouble the dreamer.

Dreams were so important that they often dictated the actions of political and military leaders, affecting everything from the prosecution of a battle to the outcome of a political decision. Dreams were also thought to provide vital clues to healers, and they were used in the diagnosis and treatment of all manners of illness.

Dreaming was often looked upon by indigenous peoples as a way to commune directly with gods and spirits, and dreams are still used in this way by cultures around the world. Many people believed, and some still do, that during dream sleep the soul leaves the body and communes with the spirit world.

The Chinese were one culture who believed that the soul left the body each night during dream sleep. They believed that if the dreamer were suddenly awakened the soul may not be able to return to the body. That is why some Chinese are still leery about the use of alarm clocks. This is just one example of how ancient legends can linger into the modern world.

Some Mexican and Native American societies share this ancient view of the importance of dreams, and share the belief in a separate dimension that is visited during dream sleep. These people believed that their departed ancestors lived in their dreams, and that they were able to take forms like animals and plants. Thus dreams were seen as a way for them to commune with their recent and ancient ancestors, and to gather wisdom and knowledge that would serve them in their waking lives. To know more logon to www.jointwebventures.com .Dreams were also seen as ways to gather information about their purpose or mission in life.

The respect for dreams changed radically early in the 19th century, and dreams in that era were often dismissed as reactions to anxiety, outside noises or even bad food and indigestion. During this period
Of time, dreams were thought to have no meaning at all, and interest in dream interpretation all but evaporated. This all changed, however, with the arrival of Sigmund Freud later in the 19th century. Sigmund Freud stunned the world of psychiatry by stressing the importance of dreams, and he revived the once dead art of dream interpretation.

We have normal dreams everyday and most of the times, they come to our life as nothing. Just 7 or 8 hours of sleep gone by. Do something about those dreams, about the time that is lost forever. Through dreams, we can enlarge our consciousness, letting us be more aware of what we experience in life… not just an awaking state, but a whole new world in a sleeping state that is revealed if the dreamer is willing to make the conscious effort to make it happen.

In the past posts, we have discussed about the different kinds of psychic dreams people may have including:

Prophetic Dreams Warning Dreams ESP Dreams Out-of-the-Body Dreams Survival Dreams Reincarnation Dreams Lucid Dreams

Sometimes dreams can be used to help us solve problems that we have a frustrating time to solve when we are awake. If things are ambiguous or puzzling, one can suggest him or herself that the problem will be solved upon awakening, putting the faith that an answer will come to the problem right before they fall asleep and finding the answer later in the conscious state.

Anything the sleeper wants to know or think of when waking up, one can program the mind to give them just that before hand and use autosuggestion, or light repeated phrases, right before drifting off into a dreamy state. This may also condition the mind to come up with new ideas and possibilities for creating a solution to a problem in life.

If one hopes to further develop ESP capability, one should continue to keep suggesting to the conscious and unconscious (this can be done through the directions on lucid dreaming below) that he or she is able to receive external sources outside of their ordinary senses permits them to do.

Katharine Cover Sabin (ESP and Dream Analysis), shows a way of how a dreamer who to have psychic dreams can do cite mantras to themselves:

The novice should begin his system of autosuggestion by pointing to the solar plexus area, and addressing the subconscious as follows: ‘my dreams are becoming progressively more outstanding and predictive. I shall remember my dreams after I wake up.’ These suggestions should be given at intervals during the day and upon retiring.”

Something similar, in your own words, through repeated daily practice and faith will also help bring out the psychic types of dreams from the books. To help this, dreamers should also always have a “dream diary” of some sort where they record their dreams. This not only helps with symbols and meanings of dreams and how they connect to the real world, but also helps us stay conscious in lucid dreams. You never know if a dream that is written in your diary will really unfold in reality.

How to Have a Lucid Dream

Lucid dreams are dreams where one is completely conscious of themselves while they are dreaming. This is something completely different from a typical dream that people have. The body will most likely be paralyzed at this point (this usually freaks people out which makes a lucid dream disappear), but if one is calm and collected, then there’s a good chance that they can begin a lucid dream and even control the outcome of the dream. But, the key to have a lucid dream is to stay conscious right before you go to sleep. Here are some tips to help you out with your journey.

1. Buy a notebook and label it, “My Dream Journal.” Your goal with this journal is to help you become more aware of your dreams, that you are serious about remember dreams from an unconscious state in a conscious state and linking these two worlds together. You will jot down little tidbits of dreams you remember upon waking up and keep your dream journal nearby you when you are sleeping.

2. Before falling asleep, try your best to stay conscious. Do this when you know you are tired and are about to fall asleep within the next few minutes of lying in bed. It might help if you keep your eyelids open, while you’re drifting off to sleep, and as your eyelids naturally close, open them up again. Once you enter the dreamy state, after doing that small act, you will become more conscious in your unconscious state and be more likely to one time spontaneous catch yourself being awake in your dream.

3. If you do find yourself being awake in your dream, do not panic. Stay calm. This is because if you start to jolt of panicking, the lucid dream may stop and you may find yourself awake, then having to start all over again. Just relax and try imagining something cool happening like flying.

4. When you wake up, record your dream. The easier it is for you to remember your dreams in vivid detail, the better you will get a lucid dreaming. This is because only a person who is completely conscious of their dreams would be able to remember what they did. Think of it this way, can you remember what you did an hour ago? Of course, you will conscious when whatever you did an hour ago happened. It’s the same if you can remember your dreams just like you would in reality.

5. Throughout the day, be more attentive to your dreams and your dream journal. Look at it from time to time as once night time hits you, you to feel more conscious in your dreams.

6. Also, through the day, ask yourself, “Am I awake?” This might sound silly at first but if you seriously keep asking yourself, “Am I awake?” The answer is yes. Be conscious of this. Then when you are dreaming, if you happen to be slightly conscious enough to know dream but ask yourself, “Am I awake?” The answer might be, “Yes.” If you answered that you are awake while your dreaming, then you are in a lucid dream.

7. Look out for dream signs such as something that happens in your dream that reoccurs again and again. This may be a clue that whenever that happens in your dream, you are having a lucid dream. Write them down in your notebook.

8. As for dream signs, the purpose of them is to have a link again between the unconscious world and the conscious world. This shouldn’t be too complicated. For example, you see a person in your dream often that you do see in real life. When you see this person in real life, you will refer back to your dream. Then when you are dreaming, you will see this person in real life and ask yourself, is this person really here. If you conscious enough to know the answer is no, then you’re dreaming.

9. Try your best to relate the dream world with the real world through random signs that seem to happen in both worlds repeating steps 1 – 9 for a few weeks, or until you make that transition.

10. Have fun!

In conclusion, the world of dreams in limitless. There are dreams that help us predict the future, there are dreams that give us warning that something is going to happen, there are dreams that give us extra senses, there are dreams that let us fly outside of our body, there are dreams that let us communicate with the dead, there are dreams that show us who we were before this life, and there are dreams that don’t seem like dreams at all, but feels like reality.

All this stuff is possible but one just has to believe in it and put faith in it. Just like any other obstacle in life, psychic dreams don’t come easily. It takes consistent practice. Sometimes, even a dose of luck is needed. Programming oneself daily to have psychic abilities, like the many people in the accounts of Hanz Holzer’s book, The Psychic Side of Dreams, will help one increase the chances of having psychic dreams.

That concludes this series of dreams. Good luck on adventuring through them as you really never know what kind of new thing you will experience in your dreams that you’ll never be able to experience in the real world.

I am going to discuss ways to record, analyze and dissect your dreams. Many of you are probably keeping a dream journal already. If not, then this advice will help you understand why it’s important and how to go about it. If you are keeping a journal, then here’s a much easier way to do this.

In the online dictionary, the word dissection is defined as the ‘process of disassembling and observing something to determine its internal structure and as an aid to discerning the functions and relationships of its components.’ Look up the word and you will also see it is synonymous with anatomize as well. Take a quick look at that definition too.

Both of these words describe very well the reasons we need to track and record our dreams. We are supposed to dissect and analyze them. It allows us to gain mastery of our parts. All of them. We are meant to be masters of our own fates and our souls.

Admit it. Haven’t you always wanted to keep one of those fancy ultra suede covered dream journals, written down in perfect lettering? The kind you find in the book stores? Now you can! It just takes a method. There is always a method or trick. Always.

Besides, you’ll come to think of yourself and how you work your own healing methods as most fine. How grand to know you have your dreams analyzed written down and dissected over the years. How grand you will feel knowing you’ve leaped mountains of issues and found rainbows to keep because you can work with your dreams. Very powerful stuff.

And it’s free!!!! Well, almost. There is the little issue of buying a fancy journal to transfer your work. But that is a small price to pay for using the dreaming to heal and master your life.

True to my nature, Salome believes there is always a ‘trick’ or an easier way to do most anything. My tendency is to take the route of least resistance in anything simply because if you find a quick and easy way to do anything, the odds are you’ll keep at it. This easy method of tracking dreams increases odds you’ll succeed in receiving the answers and guidance you need regarding dreams. The universe and the cosmos at large have an uncanny way of jumping through hoops to make friends with you through dreams too.

First of all, throw out any preconceived notions of needing a dream interpretation book. That is TOTAL NONSENSE! What they are is nothing more but someone else’s interpretation of dream subjects. It’s far more reliable to use a reference book of Signs and Symbols.

Many years ago I took a dreaming class from a shaman specifically to learn how to interpret my own dreams. I wouldn’t have done this ordinarily but I received a dream that was so profound and so mysterious that it kept coming to my mind, yet I couldn’t make heads or tails of the message. Hence, the cosmos put this shaman’s class in front of me so I would be able to dissect the dream to my benefit. Mind you I didn’t pick this person out of the blue, I’d done research into dreaming and knew there were people who were actually called dreaming shamans whose soul purpose was to have dreams for others. So I went looking specifically for a dreaming shaman. I looked for signs she was authentic when I came into her class of her true ability. And Wow! Did the signs ever come and quickly!

I wore an electric salmon color short set to that first class. The woman next to me was wearing a sage colored outfit. Next to her a woman was in purple. A young man was all in black, and a little older gentleman was in a beige shirt and slacks. We all took seats in her garden that chilly June morning at 7 am sharp.

Folded neatly over the back of each white plastic lawn chair was an afghan in the corresponding colors to what each of us was wearing. We were a bit unnerved, but then the shaman spoke to us softly with a smile, “I was there in your dreams last night, I saw you and you saw me. I knew the colors you would be wearing to class today.” Hmmm….. We put the afghans across our laps, exchanged surprised looks and set to work. I need not tell you we all paid very close attention to what that shaman had to say about learning to dream and recording dreams properly.

Here is the gist of that class: She had us buy a reference book called “An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Traditional Symbols” by J.C. Cooper (no it’s not the one who bailed out over the Washington wilderness in the 1970′s with money never to be seen again) that was J.D. Cooper. Different guy.

This dreaming shaman said, “In this book or, another comprehensive signs and symbols book like it, you will find all the signs and symbols you need to get you jump started and whet your creative juices so you may properly interpret your dreams.” There was information on every god and goddess you could think of. Information on minerals, numbers, alchemy, the universal psyche, colors, geometrics, universal archetypes, myths, etc… That dictionary COVERED IT ALL. She also said universal signs and symbols are important to use in dream interpretation because as a species, we help dream up or create the archetypes and symbols in tandem with the cosmos and universe. When we use a book like this it effortlessly connects us to the dreaming world of the cosmos, the planets, the stars, and others of our kind, and some not of our kind. The galaxies talk, we listen and talk back. That is the dreaming. Universal language IS signs, shapes, symbols, numbers, myth, archetype.

She had us use a small tape recorder with a blank cassette in it and we were instructed to place it beside our beds. Then, when we had a dream, it was an easy process to reach over, push the record button and speak into the cassette. The instructions were to speak the date, note if it was day or night, note time of year or season it seemed to be, if any, a sense of how it felt overall. Happy, sad, confused, direct instruction. She also said to be sure to stay lying flat in bed, and not to get up at all. Just grab the mini cassette recorder, push the record button and speak. It was not to concern us if we sounded garbled or sluggish. The important thing was to get it down, in sleepy talk, mumbling if we had to.

I noted at the time this was an interesting instruction and remembered my beloved mother who had instructed me how to study. Her advice about retaining information was almost the same. When you woke up, it was important not to sit up too fast. Instead lie in bed and grab your study material and read it lying down. She often used to say that a lot of information from the subconscious was lost when you started to activate the physical body too soon upon waking. The idea was to do it gradually, starting from a prone position.

In shaman’s terms this would be called giving your dreaming body time to settle back into your physical body so you can feel whole. (by the way, you should never just jump up out of bed, but give yourself a few minutes to wake up, stretch and then rise). If you don’t, you’ll find yourself trying to catch up to yourself and the world all day long. Set your clock 10 minutes earlier. Your day will go much smoother.

Once the dream was on tape, then it was an easy process to transfer it to paper at a more convenient time. The reasoning was: 1. Get it down on tape first 2. Later transfer it to paper 3. Then a journal. You’ll actually do this because it’s easier. I’m always a bit suspicious of people who say they keep a dream journal and wake up and immediately write down their dreams. I mean c’mon. Are you kidding? Record them first, then copy to paper, then analyze.

We took our taped recorded dreams, listened to them and wrote them down between classes that summer. We had to give our dreams a title, always. Much like a story. Always a title. Always. Then date, time of year, if any and copy the dream. It had to be spaced 3 lines apart on the paper. Why? Because as time goes by, we were told, there would be more details pulled from our subconscious we could add to the dream.

That was an amazing summer. Every Saturday we took our reference book of signs and symbols to class, and analyzed our dreams. It was amazing how much we could tap into and/or reference in our dreams using this method. We even began dreaming one another and helping each other out. There wasn’t one person in that class at its end that didn’t have a true idea of what walking between the worlds truly means.

Dreaming and awake, it’s all the same. Our perception is what changes, not the two worlds. They don’t exist as two worlds really. It all is one.

Today I have a bunch of journals with dreams and I can still find additional meaning within the lines although, with some, many years have passed since the dreams first appeared. Also a little hint is in order here: If you just cannot interpret the dream immediately after analyzing with these tools, then place it away, as it may not be time yet to interpret. When you get good at these techniques, you’ll find this less and less of a problem and the interpretation and understanding can come instantly.

Dreams have a transcendent quality to them that run across the universe tapping into other’s dreams, wishes and fears. They tap into the logos that are the human race, and they also tap into the universal and cosmic logos as well. It really is true that we all dream together in the electric soup of energy all around us. Dreams shift and change and are added upon as to meaning as the need arises, and this is something you will only be able to properly understand if you keep a dreaming log. Suffice it to say here, it’s not important to record all your dreams because the ones you need to know will prompt you awake. The more you do this, the more you’ll walk in both waking and dreaming worlds. Your life will be yours to see fit to run as you feel best. Dreaming knowledge brings immense wisdom into your life.

If you study Bon Shamanism, you’ll find these marvelous people have the knowledge there is no difference between the waking and asleep world. It’s only our point of reference that delineates the lines. They walk between the worlds, and they can see their future and they can change it if they so choose. There is a type of Dream Yoga they do and while they are rigorous exercises I don’t recommend for the lay person to take on lightly, they do have the ability to help us tap into the dreaming during waking hours. The books are there with instruction, and so are CD’s although in my opinion, the books are much better. There are also DVD’s on Dream Yoga you can buy with the exercises that are a bit more tame than what the Bon Shamans use.

So exactly what is the dreaming? It is nothing more than the energy forming in the entire cosmos moment by moment, all at once. It is past, present and future all there for us to delve into. The most famous for knowledge of the dreaming are the Aborigines. They ‘Walk about’ and dream with the cosmos and universe and yes our Earth.

By recording our dreams, we enter into a unique agreement with the universe. We say, “We are in tune with what is, past present and future, so dream with us and we’ll dream with you.”

The dreaming is more influential than many of us realize. Adelaide, Australia is in the shape of a kangaroo that can be seen from the air. How did this happen? The dreaming guided the energy of the people living there who built it to make it in the outline of a kangaroo! Kangaroo energy is everywhere influencing even the shape of that city. Don’t doubt for one minute that the dreaming influences you and where you live as well. It does. Cultures are ingrained with the land, and the land speaks, and so does the ether all around you. It is all energy. It is us, we are it. The trouble is we humans are a stubborn fixed lot who have hard boundaries up, and the only way the dreaming can get through is in flits and thoughts during the day and on night shift while we lie in bed sleeping.

You relax at night and go into dreams. You are still awake, your body is just resting and restoring itself… but your mind, well it’s busy tapping into the energy of the cosmos. Very busy and paying attention.

Right now, we are in the 6th day of the Galactic Underworld as Barbara Hand Clow tells us. Things are shifting and changing, and the dreaming tells us so. If we learn to dream right and record the dreams that come to us, we will then take another step forward and begin to understand how much we can affect the universe and indeed the cosmos. We truly become co-creators with one another and the all. Change, positive change happens this way.

Done right, over time you’ll begin to see your future unfold, and you can make changes before, not during, or after that fact of events, if you wish. You’ll begin to understand the true reason for recording your dreams. Better still, you will ‘know and use’ the dreaming as it is meant to be known and used.

Tape into the dreaming. Get a mini tape recorder with a blank cassette. Put it by your bed, and record your dreams onto those tapes. Use a good reference book such as a signs and symbols dictionary. There are several actually, by very good authors indeed. Please toss out your dream dictionaries. The signs and symbols dictionary books are much better suited for analyzing dreams.

When you get a chance, transfer your recorded dream to paper. Always give them a title, make 3 line spaces so you can fill in notes, comments and such later as you go. In time you’ll find you have garnered a rich repertoire of work, and one you can tap into by just opening your dream journals and reading. It will astound you how solutions to issues and problems will just present themselves to you.

Don’t worry about working to remember your dreams! If you get your materials ready and have them handy, ready to use your body, spirit and soul knows what you’re doing and it will almost trip over itself handing over the information to you in dreams. The dreaming wants to be part of your life in your waking world. It wants to partner with you and guide you. Allow it to do so and you’ll find within a year of trying this method you’ll no longer view dreams in quite the same way. You will know with certainty you have a tool for co-creating your life with the universe that is like no other.

And yes, you will be walking between the worlds, wide awake, refreshed and aware. Very powerful stuff and very healing. I believe it’s called “MASTERY OF YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE?”

One last thought…. those of you who do numerology, add up the word dreaming in any language and see what you get. Even the very words no matter what the tongue, vibrate to the energy of what dreaming truly is. Take it a step further and do some Gematria and it will astonish you!

Please use these dream journaling methods to benefit for yourself and each of us. Remember it’s all one. No difference. Dreaming and waking, it’s all the same. Our perception just changes to truly ‘see’.

Dreams may or may not foretell the future. Making dreams come true often requires action on our part, whether the dream is of happily running into an old friend or of creating an exciting new website. Ideas and dreams are great, but nothing happens unless we take action.

For example, I may dream up a great new Internet site, perhaps an exciting game or a brand new online service. But if I don’t take action, nothing will happen. The dream will not come true. I may say that I don’t know how to make it happen, but that is often just an excuse.

In the example of running into an old friend, I might try going to places I used to see that person, like a coffee shop or club group, or I might just pick up the phone.

In the website example, I might need some good PHP programmers. To find them, I could simply go to a website where freelance programmers offer their services.

Doing that would be stepping out of my comfort zone, but it is the necessary action to take to make my dream come true.

Whether you need PHP developers or help digging a flowerbed, you can find someone to help make your dream come true. You just have to go to the right place.

Bringing your dreams into reality is important. Dreams can be a great source of knowledge, guidance and creativity that will enrich your life if you pay attention to them and act appropriately.

Because dreams are messages from your unconscious mind, acting upon them—sometimes even just writing them down—tells your inner self that you are listening and willing to take action. And that encourages your mind to send you more information in the form of dreams you can act on. It primes the pump, so to speak.

Take action on your dreams today, even if that means doing something you never thought you could do, like hiring web designers or PHP programmers.

When you have created that fun and exciting new website from your dreams, let us know. We want to see!

Edgar Cayce, a world-famous prophetic dreamer in the early 20th century, was able to obtain virtually an unlimited amount of knowledge on an unlimited number of subjects. One of these subjects was dreams and dream interpretation.

Cayce astounded people by interpreting their dreams and giving them insight into their psyche, lives and even past lives. From his own experience, and from the feedback he received from others, Cayce believed that dreams are actually journeys into the spirit world.

Edgar Cayce once said,“Dreams, visions, impressions, to the entity in the normal sleeping state are the presentations of the experiences necessary for the development, if the entity would apply them in the physical life. These may be taken as warnings, as advice, as conditions to be met, conditions to be viewed in a way and manner as lessons, as truths, as they are presented in the various ways and manners.”

Cayce believed that our dreams serve several functions. Somatic dreams—dreams referring to the body—are extremely important to pay attention to. Very often dreams will offer solutions to health problems.

For example, one man was plagued with food allergies for many years, but was unable to find the source of his discomfort. Then one night he went to bed and he dreamed of a can of coffee. He quit drinking coffee and his symptoms disappeared.

Like many of us, Cayce also believed that deceased friends and family members sometimes visit us in dreams. Such dreams may be communications from our loved ones. Or they may allow us to resolve our feelings about their deaths. Any person who appears in a dream may also represent some aspect of themselves or some part of us that is like them in some way.

While dreaming, we pass through different levels of consciousness and, according to many, different realms of the spirit world. While dreaming, we have special access to our own inner spirit. According to the Edgar Cayce readings, there is no a question that cannot be answered from the depths of our own consciousness.

According to Cayce, a dream may deal with physical, mental, or spiritual issues. It may include any kind of psychic manifestation, such as telepathy, clairvoyance, prophesies, astral travel, past life recall, communication with other realms, including friends and relatives who have passed away, spirit guides, angels, Christ, or even the voice of God.

Dreams can also give invaluable information on our health. Cayce felt that every aspect of life—emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, financial, or social—could be dealth with in dreams.

Dreams are ambiguous messages. They can warn or encourage, confuse or clarify, tease or explain clearly. Dreams can potentially offer a vast range of information and experiences.

What we get out of dreams depends on how we work with them. Dreams reflect our own attitudes, motivations, and degree of enlightement. What we receive in dreams also depends on how much we have heeded and applied information we received in earlier dreams and in messages we receive while awake.

Do you pay attention to your dreams? Edgar Cayce did, and he was able to help thousands of people while he was alive.

Millions more have gained insight into their lives, health, and psyches through reading the records of Cayce’s dreams and the many books about them.

Dreaming Beyond Death: A Guide to Pre-Death Dreams and Visions is a book about the dreams that some patients have spontaneously that comfort them throughout the process of dying, and how to counsel them. It was written by the Rev. Patricia Bulkley and Kelly Bulkeley, Ph.D.

Patricia Bulkley is a counsellor who works with people who are dying. Kelly Bulkeley is a dream researcher. They came together to write a down-to-earth, matter-of-fact book to help patients like Patricia’s and those who care for them.

Recently I reviewed another book on essentially the same topic, The Dreamer’s Book of the Dead, by Robert Moss, whose books I talk about a lot here. If you have read some of those reviews, you know that I love Moss’s books and his ideas.

You may also have decided that his books are probably a bit out there for materialists who have no particular belief or interest in dreams. Moss’s books are extremely readable, but they also tend to be long. While they are easy and fun to read, they are also somewhat mystical.

Dreaming Beyond Death is a short, simple book, written for those who do not believe in dreams but do want to help others make a peaceful transition. This is a book you can give to a healthcare professional or a person with a conservative, orthodox belief system. The book does not assume that the reader believes in dreams or anything mystical. And for those who are not dream believers that is a very good thing.

This book also tells vivid stories of dreams that have brought peace and reassurance to dying people. It provides guidance for helping people understand and accept their dreams. And it does all that in a simple, readable way.

Dreaming Beyond Death is a great book to give as a gift, knowing that almost anyone can benefit from it. They do not have to believe in anything metaphysical at all. I wish I had had it to use in comforting a friend who was dying of cancer a few years ago.

So keep it in mind. You might like to read it yourself.

And it could be a wonderful caring gift for someone who needs it. In fact, it would be a great blessing.

Recently I got an email message about a special “Dreaming” issue of a wonderful art zine called Astarte’s Mega-Zine. You may not have heard of it. It’s fairly new and probably not on the newsstands. But the writers include well-known artists and authors such as Lucia Cappaccione.

In looking at past issues I have recognized most of them from their bylines in national magazines. I’ve even taken workshops from some of them.

I’m very excited that this innovative visual and written arts publication is devoting a whole issue to dreaming. If you go to the website and see what the issue includes, I think you will be, too.

Just as studying symbol systems helps your subconscious mind communicate with you, viewing and reading vivid imagery—visual and written—can also enrich your dreams.

Following is the entire message, links and all. I didn’t want to wait till I got my copy of the magazine to tell you about it.

We all need dreaming in our lives.

When I set the theme for issue 5 of Astarte’s Mega-Zine as
“Dreaming”, I never expected the enthusiastic response I got
from the Go-Make-Art Panel of Experts and other contributors.
Wow. Have we ever got some inspiring reading and projects
for you!

http://www.Go-Make-Art.com

Also new on our site this month:

- Jacqueline Sullivan audio interview
- Hanna Andersson art in The Spotlight
- New Panel of Experts members: Seena Frost & Clare Goodwin

… and the Dreaming issue, of course.

Check it out:

If you aren’t a subscriber yet, perhaps it is time.

Go-Make-Art. It’s good for you!

I hope you will take a look at the Astarte’s Mega-Zine website, order the “Dreaming” issue (or subscribe), and share your experiences after reading it and absorbing the imagery.

When the email arrived, announcing this “Dreaming” ezine, I considered it a blessing. I hope you do, too.

Let us know how (or if) it affects your dreams.
