Helping Others Realize Their Dreams
February 2, 2012 on 11:31 am | In Dream Come True, Musings | No CommentsAchieving our dreams can be very satisfying. But for some of us, helping others realize their dreams is even more so. We just may not know how.
Busy with family and/or making a living, we may feel that we cannot donate enough time to help others. We need to work.
You can make a career of helping others, and you do not necessarily need a lot of advanced degrees to do it. That is, you do not need to be a doctor, nurse, or psychotherapist to help others as a career. You can work for a nonprofit organization instead.
Nonprofit companies such as American Cancer Association, Girl Scouts, Goodwill, Salvation Army and many, many others that you have never heard off employ people in nonprofit careers. They offer all sorts of jobs, doing the same things you would do for a profit-making business, only instead, you are getting paid to help people.
“Non profit jobs” range from clerks and warehouse workers to computer network administrators, human resources managers, and CEOs. Just about every job you could find in the for-profit sector is represented in the nonprofit world.
There is a special web site where you can look for nonprofit jobs in the nonprofit sector. It is run by a 20-year-old nonprofit management publication called The NonProfit Times, the leading publication in the nonprofit field. They are experts on nonprofit organizations.
So you can help others realize their dreams—dreams of health, education, safety, friendship, or almost anything you (or they) can think of—and make a living doing it. If helping others full time is your dream, you should look into careers nonprofit and make your—and their—dreams come true.
Looking up to brother
January 27, 2012 on 9:58 am | In Musings | No CommentsThis guest post from Doris Dillon
I have always looked up to my brother. He is a great guy and a great role model to everyone he meets. However, I don’t think he feels the same way about me. He is great at being independent and getting things done without help. I, on the other hand, am quite the opposite. I need help with everything. My brother probably thinks I need help to tie my shoe. I ask advice from strangers all the time. Last week, I got Wildblue Atoka because my bank teller recommended it. I then bought a blue shirt because the sales lady said she liked it. I hate blue. What is wrong with me? I would think my parents would have raised my brother and me the same, but why are we so different? He is so good and being independent and I am about as far away as you can get. I am hoping I will learn one day and I will be able to do things on my own, but until then I will keep relying on strangers.
Sleep with Less Pain for More and Better Dreams
January 24, 2012 on 9:28 pm | In Dream Come True, Musings | No CommentsSleep is important for physical health. Dreaming is important for mental health.
Restlessness caused by pain can keep you from dreaming. It also deprives you of the deep sleep your body needs for optimum health. Yet many people prefer not to take strong prescription sleeping pills or painkillers. So what can you do to get a good night’s sleep?
Inflammation is a leading cause of pain. It can affect many areas: muscles, joints, respiratory system, arteries, digestive tract, cells widespread throughout the body, causing pain and discomfort. If you suffer from pain caused by inflammation, then relieving the inflammation will help ease the pain.
Now there is an anti-inflammatory wellness drink, called Nopalea, that you can buy without a prescription. Nopalea helps the body overcome inflammation and cleanse itself of toxins to promote optimal health.
Nopalea contains rare and potent antioxidants called betalains, which are scientifically proven to help the body reduce inflammation. It is made from the fruit of the Nopal cactus (Opuntia Ficus Indica), which native peoples have relied on for healing for centuries.
Nopalea (pronounced No-pah lay’uh) tastes good. It is the product of a 12-year-old company that is dedicated to helping people pursue physical, emotional and spiritual health. So far, over 3 million bottles of Nopalea have been sold. To try it for free (by paying $9.95 for shipping for 32-oz bottle), call 1-00-203-7063.
When you feel better, you can sleep better. Sleeping better will allow you to dream, which is also good for you, and to remember your dreams and learn from them.
How to Make Small Business Dreams Come True
December 27, 2011 on 6:33 pm | In Dream Come True, Musings | No CommentsNowadays more people than ever dream of starting their own businesses. May do start them. but making their dreams come true seems to get harder every day.
Is it just too hard to compete with the deep pockets of big corporations to get attention for new businesses? It can be hard, but there are ways to get more advertising for the dollars spent. All you have to do is know about them.
You have seen ads along the edges of—and sometimes in the middle of—web pages and blogs. Most are expensive, purchase through Google, Yahoo, or other big search engines. Small businesses often cannot afford to use them—or do not know how to use them effectively. But there is an alternative.
Businesses of any size can use a pay-per-click agency like BuzzClick that makes it affordable for companies to advertise in their national network or get paid for showing ads on their sites. An ideal combination is to both place and accept ads, which can save money by allowing the business to defray some ad costs by selling some ads on their own website.
To make it easy, BuzzClick offers professional support 24 hours, 7 days a week, a personal manager assigned to each client, and tools for creating ad campaigns. They also have one of the fastest XML feeds to display ads rapidly.
BuzzClick’s FiSoAp traffic-ranking system helps clients select the best traffic sources of customers for their business. It helps clients manage ad offers to avoid chargebacks and attract the highest bids. It even offers a loyalty program to its client community.
Can an Internet ad agency help make your company’s dreams of success come true? Try it and see for yourself.
May all your dreams of success come true in 2012!
Empty Nest

Our youngest daughter is moving out of our house at the end of this year and my husband and I are so excited. We love our kids and all, but it’s going to be really nice to finally be alone again. We’re hoping that after all these years of raising children and making sure they are taken care of, we can finally do something for ourselves. We really want to start saving so that we can take some nice vacations. We don’t want to move into a smaller home just yet, since the housing market is so bad and we know we won’t get a great price for our home. One of the first things we did was check out Gexa power prices to see if we could save some money there. We’ve also been doing more shopping online so that we can get the best deals on household goods. I’ve also been cutting coupons for groceries. Hopefully with all these efforts combined we’ll be able to save a good amount of money this year for a cool vacation. We’re so looking forward to taking some time without the kids!
Helping Children (and Parents) Achieve Their Dreams
December 27, 2011 on 9:46 am | In Dream Come True, Dream Types, Future Dreams, Musings | No CommentsChildren often have seemingly grandiose dreams for the future. They may dream them at night or they may imagine them after seeing a movie or TV show or hearing others talk about them.
Often such dreams seem fanciful or unrealistic. A weak math student dreams of being an architect or scientist. A poor reader wants to create movies or write TV series. But do not dismiss them out of hand.
These children may have amazing vision and imagination. But they will clearly need a great deal of help in achieving their dreams. Can you help them reach goals they do not seem naturally prepared for? Yes, you can. But not just by encouraging “positive thinking and perseverance.”
Master teachers have created teaching strategies that help children improve weak academic areas and more quickly absorb new ones. Teachers can enhance their skills and parents can learn to help their children learn better and faster with programs from Mentoring Minds.
Learning problems often are not a matter of memory or facts. True learning is based on critical thinking, as described by Bloom, Englehart, Furst, Hill, and Krathwohl in 1956.
Mentoring Minds uses the Bloom method to create programs and teaching tools to help children learn critical thinking so that they learn more efficiently. That is the skill all children need to achieve their dreams of the future. A Research tab on the Mentoring Minds website explains the research behind the Mentoring Minds products.
These strategies for teaching math, for example, can also be used by knowledgeable parents to help children at home. The Mentoring minds store offers a host of subject-teaching products and critical thinking aids for several important subject areas, including such mainstays as reading, science, math, vocabulary, English and Spanish, as well as teaching tools for teachers, such as classroom management, flip charts, common core standards, and card sets, which can be useful for parents as well.
These are solid, well-researched, proven strategies for building a firm foundation under children’s dreams. If you are willing to take action and work with children to help them learn what they need to know, you can help make their dreams come true.
Taking Action to Make Your Dreams Come True
December 13, 2011 on 3:18 pm | In Musings | No CommentsThere are many ways to make your dreams come true. All the ones that really work require taking some sort of action.
Over 2700 people a day sign up for online college courses. Most are working adults, looking to advance their existing careers. In other words, they are taking the steps to make their dreams come true.
Studying at online colleges costs slightly more than the tuition for brick-and-mortar colleges, averaging a little over 5 percent more, but students may still actually save money while pursuing their dreams on line. Cost savings include, for example, transportation costs, being able to live at home or wherever you want, and not having to move or give up your existing job.
Most appealing to some students is the advantage of being able to take classes on their own schedule, even attending class while sitting in bed, wearing pajamas if they want to. All those factors have to be added in to consider the true cost of the dream of going to college. Continue reading Taking Action to Make Your Dreams Come True…
How to Interpret Career-Related Dreams
November 25, 2011 on 5:31 pm | In Answer Dreams, Dream Come True, Future Dreams, Interpreting Dreams, Message Dreams, Musings | No CommentsDreams often guide us into new directions, but you have to listen to them. And you have to take action.
People often dream of new careers. Have you ever found yourself doing work in a dream that you have never done in real life? That could be a clue (or a warning, if it was something you did not like).
Most often, though, the direction is more subtle. You may awaken with a feeling of pride or achievement, a sense that something good awaits you, or just a vague feeling of hope or happiness. It is up to you to decide how to interpret those feelings.
So even if you have never dreamed of, for example, becoming a Registered Tax Return Preparer, that may still be that career of your dreams. It helps to be open to pursuing new ideas, and now is a great time to learn more about the possibilities.
After all, everyone has to file income taxes, and as rules and returns become more complex, more good tax preparers are needed every year. Even if you just want a part-time job during tax season, becoming a paid tax preparer may be just the answer to your dreams.
New IRS requirements for paid tax preparers took effect in January 2011. So even if you have been a paid tax preparer in the past, you will have to study to pass the new IRS tax preparer exams. But there are some great courses and guides that help you prepare for the tax preparer exam.
And once you have your tax preparer certification, you are ready for a career of getting paid for helping people, a career you can take pride in. It could very well be the career of your dreams.
So whatever you dream of, always be open to the possibilities. You may find an even bigger dream that will surprise and reward you, like being a registered tax preparer.
magazine fail
October 28, 2011 on 3:14 pm | In Musings | No CommentsGuest post of the week by Deangelo Spencer
I was expecting reliant energy texas installers when the doorbell rang today. Instead I saw two cute little kids. They had a catalog with magazine subscriptions and asked me to look through them and pick a few. They said that they would get a portion of the magazine sales to help them go to a basketball summer camp that they were interested in. I looked through the subscription list and ended up signing up for Travel and Leisure, Vogue, and Southern Living. After all, the prices were pretty good and I wanted to help these little kids. I gave them a check and they were on their way. Later that day, I called my sister and was telling her about the magazines that I had gotten from those cute little kids. She started hysterically laughing. I was really confused until she explained that she had just seen a special on the news about a magazine scam. Cute kids would go door to door selling magazines subscriptions, and it turns out that everyone who had ordered something never got their magazines and that it wasn’t sponsored by the companies at all. I felt like a real dummy!
Take Action to Make Your Dreams Come True
August 25, 2011 on 5:49 pm | In Dreaming True, Future Dreams, Musings | No CommentsDreams are messages from your subconscious, telling you what you deeply fear, need or wish for. Sometimes the way to make your good dreams come true is to take action to make them happen.
Some people sit around and hope and wish that good things will happen. Others research, plan, make a decision and take action to make their dreams come true. And so can you.
For example, if you dream of improving your home, a good contractor can make those dreams come true. If you live in or near Toronto, Canada, you may be in luck. For toronto bathroom renovations, toronto home additions, basement finishing, or kitchen renovations, you can call on expert toronto contractors.
Wherever you live, whatever your dreams, I hope you will find a way to take action on them, to make them happen for you. Start to day. Maybe at first you can only take baby steps toward your dream, researching on the Internet, for example. But keep on taking whatever steps you can, and never give up.
Whatever you wish for, whatever good things you dream of, may you find a way to make all your best dreams come true!
