interesting article. i actually found it because i have been waking up in the mornings feeling un-refreshed by even 8 hours of sleep, sometimes with a headache. i can only describe the feeling as waking up with 5-6 hours sleep after drinking a bottle of wine. then someone suggested i move my bed around, so to test that theory, i've been sleeping on the couch for the last couple nights - perpendicular to my bed. i've been feeling a lot more rested from my sleep. i had some unrelated stomach cramps last night, only got to sleep at around 2 am on my couch and still felt better in the morning than many an 8 hour night in my bed. i have no idea what the compass orientation of the 2 are, but after reading this article i'll definitely check!
