Dream Psychology by Sigmund Freud

Freud was a great thinker for his time. He advanced the cause of human knowledge and inspired others, such as Carl Jung, to carry the torch farther down the road.

Now we realize that he was a Victorian patriarch who could only rise to a certain level above his environment, at best. He is to be admired as a pioneer who influenced the world. But we now know that much of what he thought was wrong.

Still, with all that in mind, his work on dreams is interesting as a historical curiosity.

Dreams have a meaning. Once we learn how to interpret them, we can begin to decipher their meaning. In Dream Psychology, published in 1920, Freud demonstrates how the interpretation of dreams can illuminate the desires of the unconscious.
