Dream On

April 18, 2013 on 2:33 am | In Future Dreams | 12 Comments

We had a great time at the Aerosmith concert last night! Our seats, front row mezzanine, were actually really good for viewing all of Steven Tyler’s antics, but weren’t all that great for photography. A longer lens would have been perfect, but I probably would’ve had a had time getting it through the door. I also stumbled on the black and white version of the Dramatic Tone art filter, and it worked pretty good for this even though some of the details were lost.

And, for my Disney contacts out there, when they opened the show with "Draw the Line," the background screens were showing clips from classic Disney animation. Below is, of course, The Skeleton Dance Silly Symphony. Unfortunately, I missed focus on only one shot all night, and that was during the Steamboat Willie sequence.

  2. Epic concert image. Wow, that is rock and roll right there. Nicely captured with the OM-D! I hope to get one soon!

  6. One more tidbit for the camera geeks out there… Here’s a crop from the RAW of the image above. The OM-D can put out some pretty good detail, even at high ISO!

  7. Nice concert shots! Always a tricky thing to know exactly what camera you can get away with.

  8. I went to that concert too last night! I didn’t get any good photos, though, because my camera died. But I had some pretty good seats on the floor level. It was such a great show, Aerosmith is my favorite band! :)

Oh, and this is a VERY good shot!!!

  10. Sounds like a great show. I was thinking of going to the show in Boston a few weeks ago but never made it. It is too bad they don’t play more from my Nine Lives or Just Push Play, those are two of my favorite albums. I think we have all heard enough of the greatest hits by now :)

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/xocarlyjoy] Very cool! It was a great show, wasn’t it? Sorry to hear about your camera, I’m sure you would have gotten much better shots being on the floor.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/adamhansen] It was a great show, and I agree those are some great albums! It was good to hear Jaded, but I would have loved to have heard Beyond Beautiful, Fly Way from Here, Sunshine, Luv Lies, oh, who am I kidding? They should just play the whole album!

  12. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/brettkiger] Two of my favorites are Beyond Beautiful and Full Circle, though the chances are hearing either in concert are probably zero. That is one of the reasons make it a point to see Springsteen whenever he comes through Boston (which is a lot!), he will always play the deep cuts that most of the average fans don’t even know. Seeing him three times in August and can’t wait to see what rarities he pulls out.
