Lucid Dreaming: Lucid Dreaming Techniques You Can Use!

Who could not use a vacation to Tahiti or the Swiss Alps? Who does not want to feel what it is like to control the power of a Ferrari or Porsche? Practically everyone wishes that they could eat the finest food in the world and as much of it as they wanted without having to worry about gaining weight.

Is it possible to have all of these things if you do not have millions of dollars in the bank? Absolutely! If you can control your dreams, you can go anywhere, do anything, and be anybody.

1) Control Your Dreams?

Some people are born with the ability to control their dreams. I have at times been able to change my nightmares into different things. Some people, however, are not able to control their dreams naturally. In fact, they often have dreams and then believe that their dreams are in fact reality!

Most of us do not remember these dreams because we forget our dreams when we wake up. The ability to recognize that you are having a dream is called lucid dreaming.

Most people who have lucid dreams are also able to control their dreams. There are ways to learn how to have lucid dreams if you never have before. One method is called a Reality Check.

2) Reality Check

In order to recognize that you are having a dream, you have to be able to recognize that you are asleep! One of the simplest ways to do this is to start noticing the little things around you on a daily basis.

Some people choose to set their watch to chime on the hour. Then, when the watch beeps, they look around and note the time, the position of the sun and shadows, if the stereo or television is on, how the room and surrounding environment looks and smells, and so on.

By training your brain to observe these things frequently, you can help it to begin to observe similar things when you are sleeping. But how can you tell that you are having a dream? Determine if something is off or out of place. If you are in a meadow with sunflowers, look at the color of the sunflowers. If they are not yellow, you are probably dreaming.

3) But Why Dream Lucidly?

Some people feel that it makes no sense to be able to tell whether or not you are having a dream. After all, what good is simply knowing you are having a dream? If you know you are having a dream, you can control the dream. When you have the power to control your dreams, you can turn anything into reality.

4) Beating Freddy Krueger

In the popular movies that starred the king of nightmares, Freddy Kreuger, people realized how damaging nightmares could be. Some believe that if you die in your dream, you die in real life. There has not been sufficient scientific evidence of this yet because it is impossible to know what someone is dreaming about before they die.

In the movies of Kreuger, the teens always figure out that they have control of their dream. They are able to beat back Freddy only by taking control in his world. If you suffer from frequent nightmares, lucid dreaming is the best way to be able to beat them back. Research has shown that people who learn how to lucid dream are able to stop their nightmares and get a more restful sleep.

5) Come Sail Away

As the world gets busier, we have less and less time to spend taking a vacation. And yet, the busier we get, the more we need a vacation! With lucid dreaming, you can have your vacation without having to spend any money or take any time off of work.

You can make yourself feel as though you are in the Caribbean, with the warm sand on your back and the hot sun beating down. You can hear the sounds of the surf while you sip on an alcoholic beverage, complete with the little paper umbrella. You can take an adventure on an African safari, viewing lions and other predators. Or you can take yourself back in time to visit a loved one who has passed away.

Lucid dreaming is a tool that can be used to help you get more sleep and to expand your imagination. You can go into a dream puzzling over a problem you have in real life, and come out knowing the solution! You can get through grief by diving into dreams to say goodbye to a loved one. Dreams can take you anywhere you wish to go, as long as you are able to control them though lucid dreaming.
