Who Can Resist?

After moving to New Jersey, my husband logged on to satellitetvjerseycitynj.com to set up our satellite TV service. I feel like such walking- advertisement for the MTV hit reality show, “Jersey Shore.” Although my husband refuses to buy in to the entertainment value of this show, I find him being sucked into each episode just as much as I am. He will sit there and say that this show is ridiculous and lacking, but it is obvious that I am not twisting his arm to watch. I guess the appeal to this show for any thirty-something is the fact that we, as an age-demographic, are not so removed from this stage in our lives that we can no longer relate. In fact, watching this show allows us to escape to a time in our lives when we were free from limits and responsibilities of real adult life. It’s a time we would all love to slip right back into. Who wouldn’t love to work a meaningless job, go to the gym, tan, and then end the night drinking ourselves into an oblivion? I sure would! The last time my husband and I went out for a night of drinking, we were woken up at 7am by our two young, energetic daughters. This isn’t exactly the Jersey Shore way of life.
